A note about the “Dress Code”

crab July 31st, 2007

I’ve been getting a lot of questions about this. As we said on the RSVP card, we want you to wear festive attire, whatever festive means to you. This seems to be leaving people with an uncomfortable amount of leeway. But, thats how Dog likes it.

We want you to have a good time. We want you to celebrate. And we want you to be comfortable. If that means you show up in a suit, thats fine. If that means you show up in a toga, well thats quite alright too. Whatever you feel best celebrates the day.

People keep asking me what I am wearing, and I say “Tommy Bahama” cause that is what says festive to me. That is different for my wife and maybe its different for you. So I am not wearing a tuxedo. You still can if you want.

I only ask that you remember these few things:

  1. There is a pool you might want to swim in
  2. This is San Francisco, so the weather may change dramatically over the course of the day
  3. The party is like 14 hours long

So you might want to bring a bathing suit, a change of clothes, and a towel. A sweatshirt or jacket might also be good.

And definitely bring your sense of humor. You will be needing it.

Thanks

Thank you for your advice – we had already planned on Tommy Bahama for Mike – You two are so awesome. We are really sorry that we will miss the sailing trip and also the wine tour – poop! Will arrive at the Phoenix Friday and try to catch up with the rest of you. Sailing in the bay would be such a great way to see S.F., and of course we love wine too. See you SOON! XXXXCarol and Mike
