greetings from greece. we have finished our week of sailing and are now in delphi on our way to athens. it has been like a million degrees here, but amazingly, ruggedly beautiful. We don’t have our pics uploaded yet, but here are some useful factoids we have picked up since we left the us.

1. mosquitoes like crab more than dog. but dog can hear them and i cannot. that makes her a fearless mosquito hunter. an anime is in the works.

2. contrary to what he may say, george drinks ouzo incorrectly. it is actually kind of tasty over ice. they do drink until 6 in the morning. and loudly too.

3. only 10% of the people in sailboats have any idea what they are doing. people just copy what they see other people do. so be careful who you imitate. it could be me.

4. we were not as tan as we thought we were after sailing. we were just filthy.

5. greek restaurants do not have menus unless you ask for one and they don’t always have everything that is on the menu either. you need to play some kind of ‘go fish’ with them until you figure out what it is they have that you want.

6. after 2 weeks, i actually enjoy the taste of “feeta” cheese. its amazing how adaptable one can be in a foreign land.

driving in greece is extremely taxing, and i am desperately in need of a drink. we’ll be a little more contactable for the next few days until we wander off from istanbul into parts of turkey unknown next weekend.

love to all and we miss you
